August 2026 Angel Card Pull – Education, Purification, and Birth

Our cards this month are Education (what we're taking stock in), Purification (what we're cultivating), and Birth (the outcome). Both Purification and Birth are themes we're revisiting from past readings.

This gives us an opportunity to apply new wisdom to past lessons. It's fitting that we begin this month with Education, a card that invites us to continue learning from the lessons we've already received.

Now that 2026 is more than halfway over, it's a good time to reflect on what's working for you and what you need to intentionally let go of to make room for new and refreshing energies. Otherwise, it's easy to fall back on familiar patterns that may no longer align with the wisdom you've gained over the past year.

Here’s how the three-card pull works:

  • First Card: Reflects on lessons from the past and what you’re taking stock in.

  • Second Card: Focuses on what you’re cultivating in the present.

  • Third Card: Represents the outcome of aligning past and present energies. Past + present = the outcome.

August 2026 Cards

  1. EducationMy experiences are my greatest teacher.

  2. PurificationI release the stories I tell myself that keep me stuck.

  3. BirthI am the creator of my life.

About the Cards

Education

Life is a great teacher when we pause to reflect and integrate its lessons. As astronomer Carl Sagan once said, "You have to know the past to understand the present." From a young age, our experiences shape the core beliefs, assumptions, and coping strategies that influence how we interpret the people around us and our life experiences. What one person experiences as a simple misunderstanding, another may perceive as a reflection of their worth. Regularly taking stock of your experiences empowers you to recognize patterns and make new connections that pave the way for positive change.

Practice: Reflect on your year so far. What's brought you the most joy? What've you been most grateful for? What's been your biggest victory? Your biggest challenge? What's a habit that's no longer serving you? Your answers will give you new insight into what's most important to you and what you'd like to let go of.

Affirmation: My experiences are my greatest teacher.

Breathe in: I breathe in new and refreshing energies.

Breathe out: I breathe out that which no longer serves me.

Purification

Recognizing our patterns allows us to intentionally let go of reactive thoughts and behaviors that keep us in a reality we don't want, while actively pursuing the experiences and people that bring us joy. The more self-awareness we build through daily practice, the more agency we have to release past conditioning that keeps us stuck. Quiet contemplation and sitting with our breath help us integrate lessons with greater neutrality, creating a supportive flow of energy that leads to deeper discernment and resilience.

Practice: Spend 5 minutes each day reflecting on one thing you accomplished, one challenge, and one thing you're grateful for. Notice any patterns that emerge. Each week, ask yourself one thing you can do to expand joy and abundance, and one thing you can do to release fear or resentment that's keeping you from living the life you want. Breathe into these lessons, visualizing the experiences you're grateful for and allowing that energy to expand, while releasing the beliefs that keep you from inviting in more of the people and experiences you want.

Affirmation: I release the stories I tell myself that keep me stuck.

Breathe in: I breathe in abundance.

Breathe out: I let go of fear.

Birth

There's nothing more powerful than knowing you're in the driver's seat of your own life—that you have the ability to change unwanted outcomes and give birth to the life you want every single day. Of course, several factors can impact our capacity, including chronic stress, low income, lack of sleep, and health challenges. Some influences, like our early life experiences, social disparities, and cultural conditioning, aren't within our control. However, simply shifting your mindset and approaching life as something you get to create, rather than something that's happening to you, opens up a whole world of possibility.

Practice: Visualize the life you want by writing about a typical day in that life using first person and present tense (e.g., I wake up energized and grateful for a full night's sleep). Focus on what you can control or influence. For example, if clutter in your home is causing stress, you can make time to clear the clutter—but nothing changes unless you actually take action. Meet each day with an open mind and curiosity about how you can bring more joy, abundance, love, and gratitude into your life.

Affirmation: I am the creator of my life.

Breathe in: I believe in myself.

Breathe out: I have the power.

We're inundated with distractions every day that pull us away from our inner work. The more our attention is divided, the less capacity we have for reflection.

Distractions may feel comforting in the moment, but they don't actually help us meet our deeper needs. Too many distractions can leave us feeling exhausted and untethered.

There's no magic wand for building self-awareness or creating new habits. We simply have to make the time to slow down, focus on our breathing, and reflect.

Just a few minutes of quiet contemplation each day can help you build a sustainable habit and begin reaping the benefits.

You are the creator of your life. What are you going to do about it?
