Here’s how the three-card pull works:
First Card: Reflects on lessons from the past and what you’re taking stock in.
Second Card: Focuses on what you’re cultivating in the present.
Third Card: Represents the outcome of aligning past and present energies. Past + present = the outcome.

About the Cards
Peace
August’s second angel card was Balance. Peace comes when we find Balance within ourselves by easing internal resistance and gripping. Your first assignment is to see personal peace as something that comes from within you. As long as you search for peace outside yourself, you won’t be able to access it. You may feel self-righteous in your lack of peace, but that feeling is rooted in fear. Right-fighting only carries us further from the truth. Internally, this shows up as disdain. Yet disdain can be softened when you apply openness and September’s third card, Compassion. Let inner peace be the ripple you send into the world. Allow it to grow within you and radiate outward in all directions. This is the power you hold. Peace be with you.
Practice: In times of deep pain and suffering in the world, turn inward to make change and cultivate peace. If your life feels chaotic, begin by noticing the ways you contribute to that chaos. Remember that you have the power to change. Pay attention to the situations, people, or places that create resistance in you. Before reacting, pause and breathe. Feel what’s happening inside. What you discover here has so much to teach you.
Affirmation: May I be at peace with what comes my way.
Breathe in: I am breathing into the center of my body.
Breathe out: I am letting go of gripping.
Freedom
Freedom comes from your capacity to be your authentic self and explore who you truly are. You are far more than what the physical world has conditioned you to believe. Who am I? is the ultimate question. To be yourself, you must first come to know yourself. Turning inward not only cultivates freedom, it reveals truth as well. It teaches you how to live in alignment with who you are. You won’t find freedom until you seek it within, through mindfulness and the understanding that you are in charge of your own mind.
Practice: Harness the energy of your mind by taking quiet moments of reflection throughout the day, long enough for your breath to slow. Notice the state of your inner environment. Is your mind running you, or are you guiding your mind? Are you free to be yourself? Use these moments of stillness to embrace the totality of who you are, beyond the surface of your skin.

Breathe in: I am space.
Breathe out: I feel free.
Birth
Birth is about embracing higher ways of thinking and living. Begin by acknowledging yourself as the inventor of your life. You hold the power to create change by giving birth to healthier ways of being. As an inventor, you can bring forth new ideas and approaches, then see them through to fruition. And to make space for what’s new, you’ll learn from your mistakes and practice letting go of failures. Think of this energy as the compost that makes space for a renewed mindset.
Practice: Choose one unhealthy habit you’re ready to change. Keep it simple. Ask yourself what you would like to do instead. This is an important question, because your answer is the seed you want to cultivate. Write that seed down, and carry it with you into your breathing exercise.

Breathe in: I acknowledge my habit of [insert habit].
Breathe out: I breathe out [the seed you’re cultivating].
Most of us are taught to seek power outside ourselves, but true power always lives within. When you learn to trust yourself, you’re no longer beholden to other people or circumstances. You begin to create your own Peace and Freedom, giving Birth to new ways of being.
In moments of quiet contemplation, outside noise begins to fade. This gives you space to trust your inner wisdom. Take time each day to just breathe. You’re worthy of this time.
