October 2026 Angel Card Pull – Trust, Faith, and Courage
This month, our cards are Trust, Faith, and Courage.
As we’ve integrated digital technology into every part of our lives, we’ve lost touch with our own inner guidance system.
We’ve put our faith in powerful companies and talking heads instead of in ourselves.
And we’ve done this by becoming less and less present. Which has made us less discerning between what’s true and what’s just smoke and mirrors.
We’ve become accustomed to constant noise. We’re so used to being distracted that it takes real courage to be present and have trust and faith in our own wisdom.
You’ll notice a change to the blog this month. Instead of a separate practice for each card, I’m asking you to commit to one habit: a daily meditation practice. Whether it’s 20 minutes or 90 seconds, that’s for you to decide. My goal is to help you make it stick.
Use this mantra while you meditate, from Zen Master Thích Nhất Hạnh, known as the father of mindfulness:
On each inhale: I’m breathing in, I know I’m breathing in.
On each exhale: I’m breathing out, I know I’m breathing out.
When you say these words, you’re conditioning yourself to pay attention to your breath. Your breath is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to strengthen your intuition.
Every meditation ever created is some version of this mantra. But by keeping your practice simple, you’re more likely to be consistent.
Your breath is always available to bring you back to the present, the only moment we’ll ever have.
Here’s how the three-card pull works:
First Card: Reflects on lessons from the past and what you’re taking stock in.
Second Card: Focuses on what you’re cultivating in the present.
Third Card: Represents the outcome of aligning past and present energies. Past + present = the outcome.
October 2026 Cards
Trust – In the quiet, I hear my inner voice guiding me where I need to go.
Faith – I surrender to the divine power of the universe.
Courage – I courageously commit to the present moment.
About the Cards
Trust
Trust begins with discernment. And we can’t have discernment without quieting the mind. Think of how you have to strain to hear someone speak in a noisy room. If the room gets loud enough, you may not be able to hear them at all. The same is true of our minds. The more mind chatter we have, the harder it is to distinguish between our thoughts and our inner guidance system. And when we lose touch with that inner guidance, we get moved off our center and give our power away.
I recently listened to a talk with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa, who shared how we’ve sacrificed our attention to the internet, our intimacy to social media, and our agency to literal chatbot agents. When we outsource our discernment, we lose track of our inner voice. Use your breath to reconnect with that voice.
Affirmation: In the quiet, I hear my inner voice guiding me where I need to go.
Faith
Faith is closely intertwined with trust. It’s about believing in the connection between your inner guidance system and a divine order that we can’t see with our eyes. We’re all interconnected. The light in me is connected to the light in you, and together we all expand that light. Trust is about first being able to hear and then listen to your inner voice. Faith is about letting go of the outcome and allowing things to unfold, knowing that the universe takes care of us. When you try to force an outcome, the universe has a magical way of teaching you the same lesson until you surrender to have faith in the process. When you have faith in your inner guidance system, which comes from a neutral place, you cultivate ease and abundance.
Affirmation: I surrender to the divine power of the universe.
Courage
It takes courage to have trust and faith. It’s comforting to look outside ourselves for answers because it gives us the illusion of control. But trust and faith are about having the courage to be present in uncertainty; to stop looking outside ourselves for every answer; to take accountability; and return to our breath every single day. Because your breath is the most powerful tool you have to change your life—and the world—for the better.
Affirmation: I courageously commit to the present moment.
Here’s my invitation to you: commit to your meditation practice today, whether it’s 20 minutes or 90 seconds.
When you’re finished, email me at info@sdgmeditation.com and let me know you did it. I want to hear from you.
I know it’s hard to start a new habit, or return to one if it’s been a while. I’ll be your accountability partner.
Each day is a beautiful opportunity to begin again and reconnect with your breath.
I look forward to hearing from you.
